Erik M (ErikM) is a composer, musician, and visual artist born
in 1970 in France. He lives and works in Drôme and Marseille.

Since the 1990s, French artist and composer ErikM has been exploring a broad spectrum of electroacoustic sound productions, media art, and performative works in his oeuvre.
From his early years, he contributed to various noise groups, immersed himself in street art, and gave birth to his initial artistic installations.

Starting in the 2000s, ErikM asserted himself as a leading artist in the field of sound art and concrete music, developing multiple possibilities and forms of expression in turntablism.
Concerned with maintaining the fusion of thought, instinct, and sensitivity, he dares the simultaneity of practices and the tension of various composition modes, expressing himself through a palette of languages. ErikM traverses the worlds of both "independent" and "institutional" arts, as well as national boundaries (France – International).

ErikM is notably distinguished as a sound performer, creating acousmatic works and composing mixed music for contemporary music ensembles such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, Laborintus, Phoenix Basel, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, Dédalus, and collaborating with improvising musicians, collectives, and conceptual artists.

His collaboration with figures such as Luc Ferrari, Jean-Luc Nancy, Christian Marclay, Thurston Moore, Bernard Stiegler, Mathilde Monnier, FM Einheit, gives rise to cross- disciplinary works, creating a singular kaleidoscopic vision and exploring the tension between the intimate and the political, the popular and the scholarly.

Since 1997, ErikM has been touring alone or accompanied to present his projects (2 to 3 "on tour" projects) or to create specific and cross-disciplinary works in response to various commissions (recordings, radio, installations, videos, etc.).

In addition to his performance and composition activities, extensively documented on various audio supports, he has invested numerous exhibition spaces and museums with drawings, photographs, sculptures, and sound installations.

His work undoubtedly testifies to his explorations on the fringes of sciences (phonography, electronic lutherie, etc.) and his curious poetry of the world.
