Both Isabelle Duthoit and eRikm are stalwarts of the French and European experimental and improvisational scene. The former - you may remember her tour de force at Alternativa 2021 with NYX - has taken extended vocal techniques to extreme positions, where you can hear everything from the gentle rustling of leaves and the gurgling of synths to the screeching of birds of prey and unadulterated roars. The other - collaborations : Thurston Moore, Luc Ferrari, etc. - is a renowned turntablist, a master of decomposition and editing, but his range also includes visual art and various electronics, which is key in the SunDog project. This encounter between them, as captured on the Col des Tempètes recording, operates in a reflective mode of a kind of radio broadcast from the cave. The electronics and the voice intertwine to the point of merging in an abstract tapestry that is just as inscrutable as it is hypnotic.
